Rebekah Trapp

Rebekah Mae Trapp was raised in Laurel Springs, NC. As a child, she spent most of her time outdoors exploring the forest and playing with the animals. She has carried this love of nature throughout her life. Rebekah draws great inspiration from her outdoor adventures, which can be seen in her use of colors and free-flowing organic forms within her work.

Rebekah comes from a long line of creative thinkers. From an early age, she was encouraged to create and experiment with different tools and materials.

Studying under the tutelage of her late husband, Wayne Trapp, a world-renowned sculptor and painter, she learned the art of mixing and layering colors to create a modulated effect. You can see this technique in her paintings. She mixes oil paint with wax to allow a translucent blend of color. Her use of color and organic shapes creates light, uplifting images that bring a calm and peaceful air.
